Abstract(s)
Assim, o estudo
This Dissertation was conducted within the scope of the Master's Degree in Education and Community Development to obtain the Master's Degree. The study aims to understand whether the social responses related to Alzheimer's disease in the Autonomous Region of Madeira are sufficient in view of the population aging that the region itself is facing. This research sought to understand: how the training of workers and caregivers of the social responses that participated in the study can impact their performance; how social responses enable the integration and involvement of people with Alzheimer's in the community; and how active aging can contribute to delaying pathologies such as Alzheimer's disease. Therefore, this research was based on a qualitative methodology, which was based on a multiple case study, in order to enable a deep and comparative analysis of all the content collected in the semi-structured interviews, which allowed a broad view regarding the problem in focus. It should be noted that the data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews with professionals belonging to 3 regional entities and with family members of people with Alzheimer's. This way, data analysis and interpretation were used to analyze and triangulate all the data gathered.
