No âmbito do processo político-constitucional que consagrou a Autonomia
Política às Regiões insulares Portuguesas, um dos sistemas sociais em que a questão da
Regionalização mais tem suscitado um debate aceso, nomeadamente entre as instituições
da República e as Autónomas dos Açores e da Madeira, é o da Educação, muito
particularmente no que respeita à questão curricular.
Neste contexto, é este processo, em especial no que aos pressupostos e
princípios políticos e jurídico-constitucionais, de âmbito Europeu, nacional e regional,
mas também científicos, de cariz educativo, sociológico e económico que ao mesmo estão
subjacentes, que queremos analisar o caso concreto da Região da Madeira, procurando
inferir, a partir daqueles, quais são, a existirem, os eventuais limites à regionalização da
Educação e nomeadamente à do currículo, particularmente pelo que lhe é inerente e
fundamental, i.e., What Knowledge is of most worth para os seus cidadãos e instituições,
de modo a que assegure a concretização do desenvolvimento de cada um(a) e do território
como um todo.
A metodologia será de cariz qualitativo e interpretativo, com recurso
especificamente ao Estudo do Caso, sendo os instrumentos e técnicas determinantes, a
análise documental e as entrevistas semiestruturadas, processos estes que nos permitirão,
ambos, por cruzamento entre os dados obtidos aos diferentes níveis e planos, a
“triangulação” inerente e necessária.
Within the scope of the political-constitutional process that enshrined Political Autonomy to Portuguese island regions, one of the social systems in which the issue of Regionalization has most sparked a lively debate, namely between the institutions of the Republic and the Autonomous Islands of the Azores and Madeira, is Education, particularly with regard to the curricular issue. In this context, it is this process, especially with regard to political, legal and constitutional assumptions and principles, of European, national and regional scope, but also scientific, of an educational, sociological and economic nature that underlie it, that we want to analyze the concrete case of the Region of Madeira, seeking to infer, from those, what are, if any, the limits to the regionalization of Education and particularly that of the curriculum, particularly for what is inherent and fundamental, i.e., What Knowledge is of most worth for its citizens and institutions, so as to ensure the realization of the development of each one and the territory as a whole. The methodology will be of a qualitative and interpretative nature, using specifically the Case Study, the instruments and techniques being decisive, the documentary analysis and the semi-structured interviews, processes that will allow us, both, by crossing the data obtained at different levels and planes, the inherent and necessary “triangulation”.
