Com aumento da automatização nos veículos, especialmente a partir do nível 3 de condução autó
noma, faz com que apareçam novos desafios como manter a atenção e o desempenho na estrada,
para o condutor. Apesar das promessas existentes de maior segurança e eficiência, estes permitem
ao condutor desviar a sua atenção para outras tarefas, podendo ser necessária a sua atenção em
momentos críticos. Assim necessitando de ferramentas que permitam avaliar o impacto da distração
durante a condução.
O presente trabalho teve como objetivo o desenvolvimento e validação de uma ferramenta de
simulação de condução semelhante ao Lane Change Test que segue a norma ISO 26022. Esta
consiste em uma plataforma portável e configurável. Necessitando de um computador, um volante
e pedais para reproduzir os cenários experimentais. A ferramenta permitirá facilitar o processo de
recolha e análise de dados, e configurar os testes conforme necessário mas permitindo sempre usar
o padrão.
Na validação deste sistema, foi realizado testes experimentais com participantes, seguindo uma
metodologia semelhante à do padrão. Os resultados obtidos revelaram uma correlação positiva com
os valores do sistema padrão, indicando uma tendência na reprodução dos valores comportamen
tais esperados. No entanto, a validação estatística é limitada pelo reduzido número de pontos de
comparação disponíveis, pelas diferenças entre algumas das tarefas utilizadas e as do padrão, e o
valor de p-value ser elevado, que não permite estabelecer significância estatística. Ainda assim, a
ferramenta demonstrou capacidade para distinguir entre tarefas com diferentes níveis de exigên
cia, sendo adequada para estudos exploratórios comparando tarefas entre si nas mesmas condições
experimentais.
Conclui-se que a ferramenta desenvolvida demonstra potencial para realizar a análise no im
pacto das distrações durante a condução, oferecendo flexibilidade nos testes que pode realizar, Os
trabalhos futuros deverão focar-se na expansão da amostra e no reforço da validação.
With the increasing automation in vehicles, especially from level 3 autonomous driving onwards, new challenges arise, such as maintaining attention and performance on the road for the driver. Despite existing promises of greater safety and efficiency, these tools allow the driver to divert their attention to other tasks, potentially requiring their attention at critical moments. Therefore, tools are needed to assess the impact of distraction while driving. This work aimed to develop and validate a driving simulation tool similar to the Lane Change Test, which follows the ISO 26022 standard. This tool consists of a portable and configurable platform, requiring a computer, steering wheel, and pedals to reproduce experimental scenarios. The tool will facilitate the data collection and analysis process and allow for the configuration of tests as needed, while always allowing the use of the standard. In the validation of this system, experimental tests were conducted with participants, following a methodology similar to that used by the standard as a reference. The results obtained revealed a positive correlation with the values of the standard system, indicating a tendency towards re producing the expected behavioral values. However, statistical validation is limited by the reduced number of available comparison points, the differences between some of the tasks used and those of the standard, and the p-value obtained (p = 0.319), which does not allow establishing statistical significance. Even so, the tool demonstrated the ability to distinguish between tasks with different levels of difficulty, being suitable for exploratory studies where the objective is to compare tasks with each other under the same experimental conditions. It is concluded that the developed tool demonstrates potential for analyzing the impact of distractions while driving, offering flexibility in the tests it can perform. Future work should focus on expanding the sample and strengthening the validation.
