O trabalho estabelece relações entre memória e paisagem no filme Nostalgia
da Luz, de Patricio Guzmán, a partir da noção de vestígio. No filme, o realizador investiga
os mistérios de uma paisagem - o deserto do Atacama - para se questionar acerca da
memória de um país - o Chile. Através da observação dos vestígios encontrados no
deserto chileno, Guzmán chega à sua principal temática: a memória dos presos políticos
desaparecidos na ditadura de Pinochet.
The work establishes relations between memory and landscape in the film Nostalgia de la Luz, by Patricio Guzmán, based on the notion of vestige. In the film, the director investigates the mysteries of a landscape - the Atacama Desert - to question about the memory of a country - Chile. Through the observation of the vestiges found in the Chilean desert, Guzmán comes to his main theme: the memory of political prisoners who disappeared during the Pinochet dictatorship.
