Abstract(s)
todavia comumente negligenciada e estigmatizada.
Sexuality is an intrinsic dimension of human beings with implications for well-being, yet it is commonly neglected and stigmatized. The research aimed to understand the relationship between the themes: suicidal ideation, social desirability and resilience, which are evident in the psychological monitoring of individuals with Sexual Behavior Disorder (SBD): rarely portrayed in the literature. Furthermore, it aimed to expand scientific knowledge by analyzing these themes in individuals with Gender Dysphoria (GD). The relevance of addressing these themes together lies in the mutual interaction between stigma, the pressure to conform to norms and the impact on the well-being and resilience of individuals. The study contemplates a qualitative approach, involving case series studies and semi-structured interviews, analyzing the role of resilience in the evolution of suicidal ideation and social desirability, at the beginning and at 3 months of psychological monitoring. Thus, individuals with a condition related to sexual health were selected in the Sexology consultation. The results show that, despite pressures to conform and experiences of social and family rejection and stigmatization, which generated discouragement and self-destructive thoughts, participants demonstrated resilience. Adaptive coping strategies, an emotional support network, and their own internal resources strengthened resilience processes. The research clearly demonstrates the relevance of an ecological and developmental perspective. Furthermore, it contributed to understanding the relationship between the themes, informing clinical practice with sexual health conditions.
