Adverse childhood experiences impact the quality of development and parental functioning, being crucial interventions that help in the resignification of the trauma. The TLSW intervention aims to integrate past experiences and acquire a new, positive self narrative. Given the scarcity of interventions directed at mothers, this study is innovative in applying the TLSW intervention in a caregiver free format. The objective of this study was to analyze the suitability for a mother and its influence on parenting. Through a case study, was conducted a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the application process and its impact. Assessment instruments were applied at various intervention moments (M1, M2, and M3). Three types of information emerged describing content, process, and impact, according to the perspective of three sources (therapist, participant, and researcher). From the thematic analysis emerged several categories and subcategories, such as developmental stages, quality of family relationships, internalization of the narrative, reflection for change, and parental functioning. In conclusion, this intervention allowed the participant, through resignification, to gain a new perspective on herself, recognizing the impact of trauma on relational dynamics and the absence of guilt in adverse events. Regarding parental capacity, improvements were demonstrated in mediation processes, particularly in recognizing parental responsibility. Concerning future implications, this study reveals the relevance of services carrying out structured interventions with this target audience for long term change, contributing to breaking cycles of intergenerational violence.
