afeto positivo e do afeto negativo.
This study aims to validate the revised Portuguese version of the Big Five Mini-Markers Inventory, a brief personality measure based on the five-factor model and the lexical approach proposed by Saucier (1994). Based on a sample of 324 higher education students and using a quantitative methodology, i.e., a cross-sectional survey, the psychometric properties of the instrument were analyzed, namely its factor structure, the internal consistency of its subscales, and its predictive validity. The results showed the replication of the five-factor structure, as expected, with orthogonal subscales and high levels of reliability, despite the short length of the instrument (average administration time of 5 minutes). In terms of criterion validity, Conscientiousness proved to be the only valid personality predictor for academic performance (GPA), with effects comparable to those reported in the most recent meta-analysis studies. Regarding subjective well-being, it was found that the factors of Neuroticism, Conscientiousness, and Extraversion contributed validly and non-redundantly to the prediction of life satisfaction, positive affect, and negative affect. These results support the construct validity and reliability of the revised Portuguese version of this instrument, supporting its usefulness as a brief and psychometrically robust measure of personality in the Portuguese academic context, with relevance for psychoeducational research and practice at this level.
