social. A proposta do projeto “Cultura(s).
Gestão Cultural e a ACAPORAMA.
processo.
As part of the Master's Degree in Cultural Management taught at the University of Madeira, the internship carried out in 2023-2024 had as its main objective the implementation of a cultural project to (re)valorise heritage, literature and history at the Casa do Povo da Serra de Água, an institution included in ACAPORAMA. ACAPORAMA - Associação das Casas do Povo da Região Autónoma da Madeira was founded in 1991. Its main aim is to represent the region's Casas do Povo and the associations linked to this guild, for example, in favour of Madeiran culture, the visibility of identity heritage, the fight against ageism and the recognition of intergenerational dialogue. The organisation hosting the internship was Casa do Povo da Serra de Água (CPSA). Inaugurated in 1996, the CPSA aims to promote culture, cohesion and social inclusion. The project proposal “Cultura(s). Memórias Tradições e Partilha” (Culture(s), Memories – Traditions and Sharing) includes a number of activities that were carried out throughout the year to preserve the memory of the local community, through a protocol between the Master's Degree in Cultural Management and ACAPORAMA. As part of the socio-cultural project, the following activities were carried out: collection of life narratives, traditional games, an exhibition, a conference and a newsletter. The proposed socio-cultural activities aim, on the one hand, to promote a sense of integration and interaction between the people involved, to recognise multiple discourses of life (individual and collective), to highlight some cultural transmissions and various types of knowledge that tend to be lost in modern times, and, on the other, to contribute to the dynamism of a Casa do Povo. These are questions of meaning and cultural belonging that we have endeavoured to record in order to capture the experience that involved the people involved in this process.
