Abstract(s)
A Linguística estuda a linguagem
temas diversos. Aqui, a proposta é abrir o livro
Um Buraco na Boca de António Aragão e propor
uma reflexão linguística, partindo do título dessa
obra, sobre a linguagem da sexualidade. O tema
do incesto que trata é, no geral, pouco abordado
porque é proscrito, sobretudo no mundo ocidental
do século XXI. Porém, é sabido que quase todas
as questões de violência doméstica, nos países
ditos “civilizados”, ocorrem essencialmente no
seio da família. Que abordagem linguística lhe dá
António Aragão na obra Um Buraco na Boca? Terá
esse título um sentido sexual? É o que se propõe
demonstrar neste estudo.
Linguistics studies verbal language, whatever it is, and Literature is a domain that uses it. In some books, there are issues related to Sexuality and observing the language used for this theme is, we believed, of the interest of Linguistics. It could be thought to be exclusively within the scope of Sexology, but this line of re search has prompted research since it has been tried to demonstrate that it is not the languages that are sexist, but the cultures and societies they represent. This line of research relates Linguis tics with Literature, contributing to deal with dif ferent topics. Here, the proposal is to open the book A Hole in the Mouth de António Aragão and propose a linguistic reflection, starting from the title of this work, on the language of sexuality. The theme of incest that it deals with is, in general, little addressed because it is banned, especially in the Western world of the present century. Ho wever, it is known that almost all issues of do mestic violence in so-called “civilised” countries occur essentially within the family. What linguistic approach does António Aragão give in the work A Hole in the Mouth? Does that title have a sexual meaning? This is what we propose to demonstrate in this study.
