A presente dissertação de mestrado analisa o Diário de Nápoles a Jerusalém
de Maria Celina Sauvayre Câmara, um documento significativo dentro da tradição dos
diários de viagem femininos do século XIX. O estudo foca-se na perspetiva feminina
presente no diário, destacando as experiências e observações da autora ao longo da sua
jornada. A narrativa de Maria Celina oferece uma visão rica e detalhada das tradições e
valores dos lugares visitados, revelando as tensões e transformações decorrentes desses
encontros culturais. Através de uma leitura cuidadosa e detalhada do diário,
complementada por uma abordagem teórica fundamentada nos estudos literários e
históricos, esta pesquisa explora as perceções da autora sobre a diversidade cultural, a
paisagem e a condição feminina. O foco recai nas experiências pessoais de Maria Celina
Sauvayre Câmara, realçando as complexidades das identidades culturais e os desafios
