O futuro da Língua Portuguesa delineia-se no presente, sobretudo na escola. Na sequên cia de conferências em estabelecimentos de ensino para abordar o assunto, foi realizado
um estudo sobre usos orais-escritos da língua. Aplicou-se um breve inquérito a alunos
portugueses de 3.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e esta ferramenta foi, igualmente, distri buída a estudantes universitários de 1.º Ciclo. Interessa observar as respostas obtidas
para compreender que usos linguísticos predominam. Numa relação entre Gramática e
Linguística, importa analisar os conhecimentos revelados por jovens usuários de uma
língua com mais de 800 anos, que se vai moldando aos gostos dos falantes.
The future of the Portuguese language is delineated in the present, especially at school. Following a series of lectures at educational establishments about the issue, a study on oral-written language usage was carried out. A brief survey was applied to Portuguese students of the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and this tool was also distributed to 1st Cycle university students. It is interesting to observe the answers obtained to understand what linguistic uses predominate. In a relationship between Grammar and Linguistics, it is important to analyse the knowledge revealed by young users of a language that is more than 800 years old, which is shaping the tastes of the speakers.
