Abstract(s)
This subject addresses the need to maintain the infrastructure in good working condition, with maintenance and rehabilitation/reinforcement having an important role today. In the case of infrastructures for storing products for human consumption, this importance is increased, in particular the maintenance and rehabilitation of reservoirs for drinking water. Currently, given the increasing demands on the quality of drinking water that reaches the consumer, there is a greater attention to issues related to the maintenance and rehabilitation of the infrastructures. Regular maintenance of the supply and distribution of drinking water systems, properly applying the most appropriate methods, will reduce their costs while improving the quality of drinking water, increases the life span of infrastructure and thus significantly reduce water losses avoiding unnecessary expenses. In this work is executed an approach to the functional aspects of the reservoirs in the context of supply and distribution of drinking water systems, according to the bibliographic research. Then addresses the importance of maintenance and rehabilitation/reinforcement of reservoirs, trough identifying different types of pathologies found in reservoirs and the solutions and rehabilitation/reinforcement techniques in order to apply the knowledge in the development of professional activity. The further development of reservoir inspection sheets allows observation of the methodologies for locating, characterizing, inspecting and evaluating them. Finally the conclusions are exposed, as well as some final thoughts and a list of goals to maintain or achieve in the coming years, which includes priority actions and recommendations, based on the performed study.
