A presente relatório tem como objetivo refletir sobre o papel da educação patrimonial no
museu, com especial enfoque na mediação dirigida ao público sénior e na relevância dos
serviços educativos enquanto agentes dinamizadores da relação entre o património e a
comunidade. Partindo da compreensão do museu como espaço de educação não formal e
de inclusão social, procura-se evidenciar a importância da participação dos idosos em
experiências culturais que promovem não apenas a valorização da memória coletiva, mas
também o fortalecimento da identidade individual e social. O estudo reflete ainda sobre a
função dos serviços educativos na criação de estratégias de mediação que possibilitem o
acesso ao património a diferentes públicos, destacando a pertinência de projetos que
ultrapassem os limites físicos da instituição museológica e que cheguem até contextos como
lares e centros de acolhimento. Neste sentido, a investigação sublinha o papel do museu
como promotor de cidadania cultural, de envelhecimento ativo e de inclusão social,
reafirmando a sua relevância enquanto espaço de aprendizagem, diálogo e partilha de
saberes.
Relata-se ainda as atividades e das reflexões desenvolvidas ao longo do estágio curricular,
que contribuíram para o enriquecimento dos Plano de Atividades do Museu de Arte Sacra do
Funchal instituição que foi a sede deste projeto.
This dissertation aims to analyze the role of heritage education in museums, with a special focus on mediation aimed at senior citizens and the importance of educational services as agents that foster the relationship between heritage and the community. Understanding the museum as a space for informal education and social inclusion, the dissertation seeks to highlight the importance of older adults' participation in cultural experiences that promote not only the appreciation of collective memory but also the strengthening of individual and social identity. The study also reflects on the role of educational services in creating mediation strategies that enable access to heritage for different audiences, highlighting the relevance of projects that go beyond the physical boundaries of the museum institution and reach contexts such as nursing homes and shelters. In this sense, the research emphasizes the role of the museum as a promoter of cultural citizenship, active aging, and social inclusion, reaffirming its relevance as a space for learning, dialogue, and knowledge sharing. It also includes a report on the activities and reflections developed throughout the internship, which contributed to the enrichment of the Activity Plans of the Funchal Museum of Sacred Art, the institution that hosted this project.
