Abstract(s)
Uma vez que a origem social é habitualmente determinada pelo nível económico do agregado
familiar, abordam-se autores que investigaram a influência das condições económicas dos
estudantes no respetivo desempenho escolar, enfatizando-se o(s) percurso(s) daqueles que são
provenientes dos grupos sociais mais desfavorecidos e a quem a instituição escolar se impõe
enquanto organização social hegemónica, certificadora de conhecimentos. A metodologia deste
trabalho decorreu num paradigma exclusivamente qualitativo e teve como fontes privilegiadas
publicações decorrentes de investigações sobre essa temática. A partir da pesquisa bibliográfica foi
possível concluir que as condições e as aptidões certificadas numa ótica de hegemonia escolar têm
bastante impacto no desempenho escolar dos estudantes, nomeadamente a produção de
desigualdades de aproveitamento escolar. Concluiu-se da necessidade de uma transformação que
permita uma educação mais democrática e equitativa que valorize a diversidade social.
Since social origin is usually determined by the economic level of the household, authors who investigated the influence of students' economic conditions on their respective school performance are approached, emphasizing the path(s) of those who come from disadvantaged social groups and to whom the school institution imposes itself as a hegemonic social organization, certifying knowledge. The methodology of this work took place in an exclusively qualitative paradigm and had publications resulting from investigations on this subject as privileged sources. From the bibliographical research it was possible to conclude that the conditions and aptitudes certified in a perspective of school hegemony have a great impact on the academic performance of students, namely the production of inequalities in school performance. It was concluded that there is a need for a transformation that allows for a more democratic and equitable education that values social diversity.
