Abstract(s)
As questões relacionadas ao género vão além das diferenças biológicas entre
homens e mulheres, elas influenciam os papéis sociais e a participação de ambos na
sociedade
Esta investigação teve o objetivo de identificar as caraterísticas da liderança
feminina e masculina numa escola a partir das perceções dos professores.
A análise documental e a revisão da literatura fez-se necessária no sentido de
conhecer o estado da arte, reunindo as informações fundamentais para conceptualizar os
papéis de género, a escola como organização, a administração educacional, a liderança e
os seus estilos. Desta síntese emergiram as problemáticas que permitiram a elaboração
das questões de investigação que nortearam este estudo de caso realizado numa escola
pública de 2º e 3º ciclos da Região Autónoma da Madeira.
A metodologia adotada foi a da pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa, desenvolvida
a partir dos dados recolhidos nos documentos, na literatura e através da elaboração e
aplicação de inquéritos por questionário a todos os professores.
O tratamento dos dados foi feito através das técnicas de análise de conteúdo e
procedimentos estatísticos seguindo-se a posterior triangulação de dados.
Na conclusão temos as respostas às questões de investigação colocadas. Assim,
para alguns professores desta amostra os comportamentos dos líderes são condicionados
pelo seu género pois as formas de liderar diferem consoante o género. Para alguns
professores o tratamento conferido a homens e a mulheres ainda é distinto.
Gender issues go beyond the biological differences between men and women, they influence the social roles and participation of both in society This research aimed to identify the characteristics of female and male leadership in a school from the teachers' perceptions. The document analysis and literature review was necessary in order to know the state of the art, gathering the fundamental information to conceptualize gender roles, the school as an organization, educational administration, leadership, and its styles. From this synthesis emerged the problems that allowed the development of research questions that guided this case study carried out in a public school of 2nd and 3rd cycles in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The methodology adopted was qualitative and quantitative research, developed from data collected in documents, literature and through the development and application of questionnaire surveys to all teachers. The data processing was done through the techniques of content analysis and statistical procedures followed by subsequent data triangulation. In the conclusion we have the answers to the research questions. Thus, for some teachers in this sample, leaders' behaviors are conditioned by their gender because the ways of leading differ according to gender. For some teachers the treatment given to men and women is still different.
