Abstract(s)
Departing from the imagination conceived by Bachelard as a poetic wandering, this paper examines the inner journey, under the sign of metamorphosis, in Mia Couto’s poetry and fiction. The lyrical subject penetrates a (re)creating space of imagination that allows him/her to create unique images, reinventing his/her motherland and reconstructing himself/herself as a renewed being based on the experience of the androgyne myth. For Couto, travelling means to be available to welcome other soul states.
