| dc.description.abstract | Quando Paulo Freire escreveu e publicou a ‘Pedagogia do Oprimido’, a humanidade ainda mal despertava para o processo de consciencialização sobre uma nova forma de opressão: a opressão ambiental. Hoje, meio século depois, este tipo de opressão tornou-se global, fazendo de todos nós ‘esfarrapados do mundo’ e, em simultâneo, opressores e oprimidos de um mundo cada vez mais esfarrapado. A opressão ambiental instalou-se sobre o mundo e sobre a humanidade traduzindo- -se numa crise ecológica que clama, também ela, por uma pedagogia da libertação. Apesar do empenho da educação ambiental e da profunda fé em tecnologias salvadoras, a época histórica em que vivemos é marcada pelo constante agravar da crise ecológica, evidenciando o insucesso da atual abordagem para libertar a humanidade, e o mundo, da opressão ambiental. Deixemo-nos iluminar pela pedagogia e filosofia freiriana e procuremos a morada dos opressores e dos oprimidos ambientais, vejamos se a educação bancária e prescritora se alojou na educação ambiental, que se exigia revolucionária, e se se fez messiânica e em mera propaganda. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | When Paulo Freire wrote and published the ‘Pedagogy of the Oppressed’, hu manity was still barely awake to the process of raising awareness about a new form of oppression: environmental oppression. Today, half a century later, this type of oppression has become global, making all of us ‘ragged of the world’ and, at the same time, oppressors and oppressed of an increasingly ragged world. Environ mental oppression has taken over the world and humanity, translating into an eco logical crisis that also calls for a pedagogy of liberation. Despite the commitment of environmental education and a deep faith in saving technologies, the historical time in which we live is marked by the constant worse ning of the ecological crisis, showing the failure of the current approach to liberate humanity, and the world, from environmental oppression. Let us be enlightened by Freire’s pedagogy and philosophy and look for the abode of the environmental oppressors and oppressed, let us see if “banking” and “prescribing” education lod ged itself in environmental education, which should be revolutionary, and became messianic and in mere propaganda. | pt_PT |
