Moçambique, nos finais do século XX, alvorecer do século XXI, procura uma necessi dade urgente de se redescobrir com base nas diversidades habitadas e capazes de projetar
uma identidade singular, recetora de uma janela de mundos. Eduardo Costley White,
nascido de uma geração que se liberta do rótulo pós-colonialista, emerge como um poeta
dotado de uma perspetiva integradora e dialogante entre o passado e o presente, com o
objetivo de um futuro edificado na relação das paisagens. A diversidade que habita o
universo sentido de e por White permite-nos olhar para a sua poética como um fluir de
mosaicos de uma língua pátria e de uma realidade plural.
Mozambique, in the late 20th century, the dawn of the 21st century, seeks an urgent need to rediscover itself based on the diversity that is inhabited and capable of projecting a unique identity, receiving a window of worlds. Eduardo Costley White, born of a generation that frees itself from the post-colonialist label, emerges as a poet endowed with an integrating and dialoguing perspective between the past and the present, with the aim of a future built on the relationship of landscapes. The diversity that inhabits the universe felt by and by White allows us to look at his poetics as a flow of mosaics of a mother tongue and a plural reality.
