perturbação do stress pós-traumático (PTSD) afeta significativamente a saúde mental e
PTSD. Método: Foram selecionados vários estudos a partir do Google Scholar, B-On e
implementar mudanças, descobrir novos significados, reduzir o stress, aumentar a

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the therapeutic effects of journaling on trauma processing and PTSD symptoms. Method: Several studies were selected from Google Scholar, B-on, and PubMed, covering the period between 2005 and 2025, according to the defined inclusion criteria. The PRISMA model was used to ensure validity, reliability, and methological rigor of the studies. Results: 38 studies were included in this systematic review and showed that journaling can enhance emotional regulation, facilitate the expression of feelings and thoughts, reorganize traumatic events, foster change, discover new meanings, reduce stress, increase motivation, process difficult emotions, and promote post-traumatic growth (PTG). Main conclusions: Journaling is a free intervention tool that can complement psychotherapy and facilitate gradual exposure to traumatic memories in a safe way. Different forms of journaling offer distinct benefits in emotional recovery.
