A literatura tem vindo a assumir o papel de consciencialização e (re)construção nacional, explorando a busca da unificação e afirmação das identidades de países outrora colónias portuguesas, tanto no período colonial, como no pós-revolução. Como mecanismo de desconstrução, a ironia atravessa o discurso histórico-cultural e literário nos romances O Cão e os Caluandas (1985), de Pepetela e O Último Voo do Flamingo (2000), de Mia Couto. Estas obras repensam a complexidade da realidade pós-colonial em Angola e Moçambique sob o signo da distopia. Ao refletir sobre os não-ditos da História oficial, Pepetela e Mia Couto alegorizam a desconstrução do herói e a descrença das utopias fracassadas através da poética do desencanto subversivo.
Literature has come to assume awareness and national (re)construction roles, by exploring the search for the unification and assertion of the identities of countries that were former Portuguese colonies, both in the colonial as in the post-revolution periods. Irony is used as a mechanism of deconstruction and runs through the historical-cultural and literary discourse of the novels, O Cão e os Caluandas (1985), by Pepetela, and O Último Voo do Flamingo (2000), by Mia Couto. These novels reconsider the complexity of post-colonial reality in Angola and Mozambique under the sign of dystopia. When reflecting on the non-uttered, the unspoken of official History, Pepetela and Mia Couto allegorize the deconstruction of the hero and the disbelief of failed utopias through the poetics of subversive disenchantment.
