A avaliaÁ„o da parentalidade constitui uma tarefa crucial no quadro da proteÁ„o ‡ inf‚ncia. Dela
depender„o, em grande parte, as decisıes legais e as intervenÁıes psicossociais subsequentes. Em
Portugal, ainda n„o dispomos de par‚metros orientadores, permanecendo ao critÈrio de cada serviÁo
ou de cada tÈcnico a escolha dos mais adequados. A partir da an·lise de 11 modelos de avaliaÁ„o da
parentalidade, verificamos que È consensual abordar trÍs ·reas chave − crianÁa, pais, contexto − e que
tende a generalizar-se a inclus„o de par‚metros respeitantes ‡s capacidades parentais, bem como a
ponderaÁ„o da implicaÁ„o emocional do tÈcnico no processo de avaliaÁ„o. Estes referenciais e o
conceito de parentalidade minimamente adequada s„o apontados como vetores de investigaÁ„o
futura no contexto nacional.
Parenting assessment is a main task in child protection field. Legal decisions and psychosocial interventions will depend on it. In Portugal we still don t have guiding lines; each service and each worker chooses the ones they think more adequate. From 11 parenting assessment models analysis, we conclude that there are 3 major areas assessed- child, parents, context and that it tend to be generalized the inclusion of guiding lines related to parental capacities as considering worker s emotional involvement in assessment process. These reference points and minimaly adequate parenting are pointed out as future research lines in our country.
