Abstract(s)
Com base na interseção entre Turismo, Cultura e Literatura, o objetivo desta
dissertação reside na conceção de um roteiro turístico-literário que explore as lendas da Ilha
da Madeira. Tendo como motivo e receio de que a literatura popular de tradição oral
madeirense caia no esquecimento, surge a necessidade premente de criar este roteiro literário
como um instrumento de promoção e valorização da herança cultural. A apreciação e
preservação do património cultural imaterial da Ilha são essenciais perante os desafios
impostos pela globalização e pelo turismo de massa, que ameaçam a autenticidade e a
diversidade cultural. Com isso, este roteiro literário pretende não apenas promover o
património cultural imaterial, mas também o material, e servir como uma ferramenta
inovadora para enriquecer a experiência turística e garantir a transmissão das lendas às
próximas gerações. Conforme mencionado anteriormente, o cerne desta dissertação é a
criação de um roteiro turístico-literário que se baseie nas lendas madeirenses. Para isso, esta
investigação empreenderá uma análise da intricada relação entre turismo, cultura e literatura,
com especial atenção aos domínios do turismo cultural e literário, assim como ao conceito
de literatura popular de tradição oral, focalizando-se nas lendas madeirenses. Em seguida,
será desenvolvida uma proposta de roteiro pela Ilha da Madeira.
Based on the intersection of Tourism, Culture, and Literature, the goal of this dissertation is to design a literary tourism route that explores the legends of Madeira Island. Motivated by the concern that Madeira's popular oral tradition may fall into oblivion, there is a pressing need to create this literary route as a tool for promoting and valuing cultural heritage. The appreciation and preservation of the island’s intangible cultural heritage are essential in the face of the challenges posed by globalization and mass tourism, which threaten the authenticity and cultural diversity of the region. This literary route aims not only to promote the intangible cultural heritage but also the tangible heritage, serving as an innovative tool to enrich the tourist experience and ensure the transmission of Madeira’s legends to future generations. As previously mentioned, the core of this dissertation lies in the creation of a literary tourism route based on Madeira’s legends. To achieve this, the research will undertake an analysis of the intricate relationship between tourism, culture, and literature, with a particular focus on cultural and literary tourism, as well as the concept of popular oral tradition, concentrating on Madeira's legends. Subsequently, a proposed route across the island of Madeira will be developed.
