Jogos florais e a sua importância como fator de criação e divulgação literária

| dc.description.abstract | A presente dissertação tem como objetivo documentar o percurso dos Jogos Florais desde a origem até atualidade. Os Jogos Florais começaram por ser um conjunto de festividades de cariz lúdico- religioso em que se homenageava a Deusa Flora. Mais tarde, na Baixa Idade Média, e em Toulouse, até hoje conhecida como o “berço dos Jogos Florais”, o evento assumiu a configuração de um concurso literário. Em Portugal, os Jogos Florais surgem em maio de 1936 no seguimento das comemorações do “Ano X da Revolução Nacional”, uma iniciativa do Secretariado de Propaganda Nacional e da Emissora Nacional. A realização do evento foi um sucesso, o que levou a que se realizassem várias edições do concurso. Na Madeira, os Jogos Florais surgiram como resultado de uma parceria entre o Ateneu Comercial do Funchal e o periódico Eco do Funchal. O concurso tinha como principal motivação louvar a poesia criada na Madeira, ao mesmo tempo que impulsionava o trabalho dos escritores da Região. Houve um total de quatro edições do concurso Jogos Florais promovidas pelo Ateneu Comercial do Funchal. Em 1941-1942 e 1945-1946 o público-alvo do concurso eram adultos, indivíduos que dedicavam parte do seu tempo ao cultivo das letras, na edição de 1959-1960 e na de 1982 houve uma adaptação da estrutura do concurso de modo a cativar as classes mais jovens, nomeadamente os alunos dos liceus. Os Jogos Florais ainda hoje se realizam em várias regiões do continente português, pelo que consideramos importante reavivar esta tradição na Região Autónoma da Madeira. Para fomentar está ideia iremos realizar uma exposição “A Madeira é um belo jardim! - Retrospetiva dos concursos de Jogos Florais na região”. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The objetive of this dissertation is to document the path of the Floral Games since the begining until the current days. The Floral Games started to be a religious event where the people homage the Goddess Flora. Later on, in the Middle Age, the contest have suffered several changes, becoming known as a literary contest. It was in Toulouse where we heard about the Floral Games as a literary competition. In Portugal, the Floral Games appeared in May 1936 following the commemorations of the “Year X of the National Revolution”, an initiative of the Secretariat for National Propaganda and the National Broadcaster. The organization of the event was a success, which led to the subsequent holding of several editions of the competition. In Madeira, the Floral Games are the result of a partnership between the Ateneu Comercial do Funchal and the periodical Eco do Funchal. The main motivation for the contest was to promote poetry created in Madeira while boosting the work of regional writers. There were a total of four editions of the Floral Games competition promoted by the Ateneu Comercial do Funchal. In 1941-1942 and 1945-1946 the target audience of the competition was adults, the people who dedicated part of their time to the cultivation of letters. In the edition 1959-1960 and 1982 there was an adaptation of the structure of the competition in order to captivate younger classes, namely high school students. The Floral Games are still held in several regions of the Portuguese mainland, which is why it is considered important to revive this tradition in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. To promote this idea, we are going to hold an exhibition “Madeira is a beautiful garden! - Retrospective of the Flower Games competitions in the region”. | pt_PT |
