A Ação Social promove a igualdade de oportunidades, a equidade e justiça social
aos estudantes do Ensino Superior embora se verifique que alguns aspetos de natureza
financeira não sejam os mais adequados.
A qualificação da população a nível superior de um país é de extrema importância
pois permite um maior desenvolvimento económico, social bem como cultural. A
formação superior possibilita aos indivíduos melhores condições de vida no âmbito
pessoal, profissional e melhores rendimentos no futuro de modo que o esforço pessoal e
financeiro atual vale a pena.
A bolsa de estudo concedida pela Ação Social permite o acesso e a continuação
dos estudos no nível de ensino superior, no entanto em alguns casos torna-se insuficiente
pelo que alguns estudantes recorrem ao agregado familiar para apoiar nas restantes
despesas bem como a apoios atribuídos por instituições públicas e/ou particulares. O
Estado, na nossa opinião, deveria contribuir com mais apoios.
A presente investigação realizou-se através de uma abordagem mista de forma a
podermos obter mais detalhes qualitativos e em alguns casos dados quantitativos, com o
objetivo de compreender se a Ação Social do Ensino Superior promove a igualdade de
oportunidades, a equidade e a justiça social, bem como saber quais as motivações e as
influências para frequentar este nível de ensino, bem como identificar as suas
dificuldades. Para a recolha de dados realizamos uma entrevista à Vice-Reitora para a
Área Académica e Formação ao longo da Vida da UMa, tal como aplicamos um inquérito
aos estudantes bolseiros inscritos na UMa e recorremos ainda à análise documental. Foi
ainda possível elaborar o perfil de liderança da Vice-Reitora bem como dos estudantes
bolseiros da DGES.
Social Action promotes equal opportunities, equity and social justice for Higher Education students, although some aspects of a financial nature are not the most appropriate of a financial nature. Qualifying the population at higher education in a country is extremely important as it allows for greater economic, social and cultural development. Higher education provides individuals with better personal and professional living conditions and better income in the future, so that the current personal and financial effort is worth it. The scholarship granted by Social Action allows access and continuation of studies at this level of higher education, however, in some cases, it becomes insufficient, and they resort to the household to support the remaining expenses, as well as the designated support. by public and/or private institutions. The State, in our opinion, should contribute more support. This investigation was carried out using a mixed approach so that we could obtain more qualitative details and, in some cases, quantitative data with the aim of understanding whether Higher Education Social Action promotes equal opportunities, equity and social justice, as well as knowing what are the motivations and influences for attending this level of education, as well as identifying its difficulties. To collect data, we carried out an interview with the Vice-Rector for the Academic Area and Lifelong Training at UMa, as well as applying a survey to scholarship students enrolled at UMa and also using document analysis, and where it was also possible to prepare the profile leadership of the Vice-Rector as well as the DGES scholarship students.
