A morte, desde Aparição até Escrever, este último publicado postumamente, não deixou nunca de
espantar Vergílio Ferreira. Na verdade, ao longo dos quase 40 anos que medeiam a publicação dos dois
livros, a temática da morte encontra-se entre as mais trabalhadas pelo autor. Se ainda em vida, o eu tiver
a oportunidade de se organizar, de se pensar a si mesmo, planificando o futuro, encontra a realização
pessoal num exercício de Memória Prospectiva. Vejamos o protagonista de Para Sempre, Paulo, que
caminha livremente pela sua casa, no espaço da infância ao qual decidiu regressar mesmo já em plena
solidão, sem condicionamentos nem distúrbios (livre caminho pela casa-memória-narrativa1), operando
em cada divisória a presença rememorativa de episódios passados.
Death, since Aparição until Escrever (the latter published posthumously), never ceased to amaze Vergílio Ferreira. In fact, throughout the almost 40 years that separate the two books, the theme of Death is among the most worked on by the author. If the Self has the opportunity in life to organize, thinking himself and planning his future, he will find personal achievement in the Prospective Memory exercise. In the novel Para Sempre, the protagonist Paul walks freely in his house, the same space where he grew up, and where to he decided to come back, even in his solitude, but without any conditionings or troubles (free path in his house-memory-narrative), living in each room the presence-memory of past events.
