Abstract(s)
The Intangible Heritage, affecting the local and regional level, must be known and disseminated nationally and internationally. The knowledge, and its dissemination, is one of the viable ways to save, and thus make his promotion to that safeguard customs and traditions, terminologies and expressions. This heritage must of the time is rooted in the Portuguese people and has a long history. It comes usually with a very long past, but sometimes, has a compromised future due to a present of weak appreciation. This heritage is extremely important and can contribute to the development, for especially tourism, of the different regions of Portugal, from Trás-os-Montes to Algarve, from Madeira to the Azores. Without neglecting its national sense, is above all, an asset to the local and regional economy, if disclosed, preserved and promoted. For this, the Linguistic Patrimony plays a key role, usually underrated. It is the general lack of knowledge of this vast Intangible Heritage Patrimony that motivates this research.
