Abstract(s)
qualitativos e quantitativos. Estes penúltimos corresponderam à análise documental sobre
diversos temas e entrevistas a grupos focais, enquanto os últimos permitiram avaliar as
respostas do inquérito aplicado à população madeirense. A metodologia quantitativa
The Autonomous Region of Madeira is characterised by its strong commitment to tourist attractions involving cultural and artistic events. There are several entities offering non tertiary arts education to the residents of Madeira, however, there is no higher education institution that does so exclusively. With the aim of attracting and retaining artistic talent in the archipelago, this project was drawn up to study the feasibility of creating the Escola Superior Artística da Madeira. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used in the research. The first involved analysing documents on various topics and interviews with focus groups, while the second made it possible to assess the responses to the survey applied to the Madeiran population. Based on the methodological tools, it was determined that the creation of a higher arts education school is a moderate necessity. The quantitative methodology involved 149 respondents, indicating a high degree of importance in the creation of such an institution. This project shows an in-depth practical study on the feasibility analysis of a higher education school — having been possible to see, by analysing the micro and macro environments, that it is indeed financially feasible — so it could be a facilitator for entrepreneurs and investors in the future. It is important to note that there were some limitations to this study, especially due to the difficulty in surveying minors.
