Abstract(s)
O setor da construção enfrentou uma das épocas mais difíceis desde que há registo. Essencialmente, as obras que estão em desenvolvimento dizem respeito à recuperação do património. Prevê-se uma procura diferenciada de atos de engenharia, no entanto a especialidade de estruturas será sempre primordial. Devido às exigências regulamentares, a segurança estrutural é um dos fatores de maior relevância na indústria da construção.
A Regulamentação Portuguesa, nomeadamente o Regulamento de Segurança e Ações (RSA) e o Regulamento de Estruturas de Betão Armado e Pré-esforçado (REBAP), serão em breve substituídos por um novo quadro legislativo, definido pelos Eurocódigos.
Numerosos projetistas experientes demonstram não estarem preparados para operar através destes códigos, pelo que continuam a aplicar em exclusividade o “REBAP e o RSA”.
A aplicação dos Eurocódigos oferece alguns obstáculos para os projetistas, visto que introduzem novidades na quantificação de cargas, vento, entre outros. No entanto são extremamente benéficos, visto que uniformizam as metodologias de cálculo estrutural ao nível da União Europeia.
Este relatório de atividade profissional surge neste âmbito, tendo como objetivo apresentar, para além de uma descrição resumida da atividade profissional do autor, desenvolvida nos últimos 11 anos, a aplicação dos “Eurocódigos” num projeto de Estabilidade Estrutura.
A realização do projeto permitiu ao autor conhecer a nova legislação: a forma como está organizada, as diferenças no dimensionamento face à legislação ainda em vigor, bem como as alterações introduzidas no modo de dimensionamento das estruturas de betão para ações dinâmicas, sendo que foi onde se notou diferenças significativas.
The construction industry has faced one of the most difficult times known to date. Essentially, the works that are in development are related to the rehabilitation of the built patrimony. A distinguished search for engineering acts is foreseen. However, the structures specialty will always be paramount. Due to regulatory requirements, structural safety is one of the most important factors in the construction industry. The Portuguese Regulation, namely that related to the security and actions on structures (Regulamento de Segurança e Ações - RSA) and the regulations on the design of reinforced concrete structures (Regulamento de Estruturas de Betão Armado e Pré-esforçado - REBAP) will soon be replaced by a new legislative framework defined by the Eurocodes. Numerous experienced designers demonstrate that they are not prepared to operate through these codes, so they continue to apply "REBAP and RSA" exclusively. The application of the Eurocodes offers some obstacles for the designers, since they introduce innovations in the quantification of gravity loads, wind, among others. However, they are extremely beneficial as they standardize structural calculation methodologies at the European Union level. This report of professional activity arises in this scope, aiming to present, in addition to a brief description of the professional activity of the author, developed in the last XI years, the application of the "Eurocodes" to a project of structural design. The realization of the project allowed the author to get to know the new legislation: the way in which it is organized, the differences in the design process when compared to the legislation still in force, as well as the changes introduced in the design of concrete structures for dynamic actions, were significant differences are noted.
