escolhido e as expectativas do estudante. Diversos estudantes ingressam no Ensino
no curso pretendido.
Dropping out of school in higher education is a significant problem that affects students, educational institutions, and society in general. Among the main causes of dropout may be financial difficulties, lack of vocational guidance, lack of motivation, personal problems and incompatibility between the chosen course and the student's expectations. Many students enter Higher Education without a clear understanding of what to expect, leading to frustration, demotivation and in more serious cases can lead to dropouts from Higher Education, especially when the reality does not correspond to the student's expectations. The consequences of dropping out of school are diverse and include the loss of financial investment by families and the government, as well as the waste of potential by students who drop out of higher education because they did not enter the intended course. For educational institutions, dropping out represents a significant loss of resources and can have negative impacts on their reputation and funding. Therefore, as for the methodological part of this research, it is a multiple case study that will use semi-structured interviews and questionnaire surveys as data collection techniques. Regarding the techniques of analysis of the information taken from the interviews and surveys, I will proceed to the content analysis and subsequent data triangulation.
