Abstract(s)
organizacional.
Child protection’ professionals are called daily to assess the quality of parenting. As a work of a multidisciplinary nature, in which workers from different academic backgrounds participate simultaneously, the sharing of common references for the assessment and weighting of information is decisive for the effectiveness of the interventions, as it enhances their coherence and consistency and the cohesion of the teams. However, parenting evaluation are associated not only with scientific criteria but also with the dynamics of organizations and the quality of personal experiences and beliefs related to parenting, childhood and the developmental impact of child abuse situations. Aiming to verify if different academic backgrounds were associated with convergent or different positions about parenting evaluation criteria, a study was carried out with 391 professionals working in child protection services, who were asked to sort the degree of agreement with 50 sentences, in a forced decision task (qsort). The analysis of the results was made through the analysis of response clusters using the Ken-Q Analysis methodology (v1.0.6) and having as a reference the minimally adequate parenting operationalization matrix. The results for the main clusters of responses from professionals in the fields of Psychology, Social Work and Education point to a convergence in agreement and disagreement regarding criteria associated with the developmental implications of risk situations. The implications of the results regarding ways to enhance professional development and the effectiveness of interventions such as organizational learning are discussed.
