Abstract(s)
Houve, igualmente, a
This research aims to characterize violent behavior among peers in prison context. There was also a need to understand which of the four groups, namely groups of perpetrators, groups of perpetrators and victims, groups of victims, or groups of individuals who do not engage in conflict, is the most prevalent in this particular environment. It is also intended to perceive which are the social-demographic and legal-criminal variables that favor the occurrence of violent behaviors. Fifty-three male inmates detained at Funchal Prison (EPF), aged between 21 and 62 years (M = 39, 19, SD = 9, 465) were surveyed. To assess the variables under study, the Direct and Indirect Prisoner Behavior Checklist Revised (DIPC-R) was used, and a social-demographic and criminal-law questionnaire was also completed. There is a prevalence of non-involved individuals. Regarding the types of bullying, indirect bullying has been shown to be the most common. Among the direct bullying subtypes, the most expressive are verbal and psychological bullying.
