O presente estudo parte do pressuposto de que a relação escola-família apresenta ainda algumas fragilidades e os intervenientes parecem não maximizar todas as potencialidades desta colaboração. Deste modo, o objetivo geral da presente dissertação passa por conhecer o processo comunicacional entre escola-família. Mais especificamente, identificar, descrever e analisar a perceção dos professores do 1ºciclo sobre a comunicação escola – família. Para tal, contou-se com uma amostra composta por 44 sujeitos, do ensino básico de escolas privadas, com idades compreendidas entre os 25 e os 59 anos, sendo a maioria do género feminino. Relativamente aos principais resultados, verificou-se que a forma de contacto mais utilizada pelos docentes foi as reuniões individuais; os pais são contactados com uma frequência superior a 4 vezes no ano letivo; a dificuldade mais sentida no contacto com os pais foi a incompatibilidade de horários; e as estratégias que predominaram foram as reuniões de pais.

In this way, the general objective of this dissertation is to know the communicational process between school-family. More specifically, to identify, describe and analyze the perception of 1st cycle teachers about school - family communication. To do so, it was considered a sample composed by 44 subjects, from the basic education of private schools, between the ages of 25 and 59 years old, being the majority of the feminine sort. Regarding the main results, it was verified that the most used form of contact by the teachers was the individual meetings; parents are contacted more than 4 times during the school year; the difficulty most felt by teachers in contact with parents was the incompatibility of schedules; and the predominant strategies were parent meetings.
