Neste trabalho, apresenta-se um estudo com delineamento quasi-experimental envolvendo a realização de
um programa de intervenção com adolescentes que visou promover a capacidade de perspectivar o futuro e de
tomar decisões na transição do ensino básico para o secundário. Participaram no estudo 106 estudantes com
idades compreendidas entre os 14 e os 17 anos (MIdade = 15 anos), distribuídos pelos grupos experimental (GE) e
de controlo, conforme participassem ou não no programa. A avaliação da eficácia do programa, efectuada com
recurso ao Questionário de Tomada de Decisão na Carreira, que foi construído para a investigação, evidenciou
diferenças significativas entre os grupos, em benefício do GE. Os resultados são discutidos considerando a im portância e os desafios às práticas de intervenção vocacional em contexto escolar, bem como da sua avaliação,
tendo em vista o desenvolvimento de perspectivas de futuro e trajectórias mais adaptativas e geradoras de satis fação por parte dos adolescentes.
In this paper we present a quasi-experimental study that involved the implementation of a program that in tended to promote adolescents’ ability to put the future in perspective and make decisions in the transition from middle to high school. Participants were 106 Portuguese students aged from 14 to 17 years (MAge = 15 years), which were distributed by the experimental group (EG), which in turn was divided into 4 subgroups, and the control group, whether they respectively participated or not in the intervention program. The assessment of the program effectiveness, through a pre vs post-test comparison, and performed with the Career Decision Making Questionnaire, showed significant differences between the groups in favor of GE. The results are discussed con sidering the importance and the challenges to career education practices in schools, as a relevant tool to promote more adaptive and satisfaction generating paths among adolescents.
