Nos estudos sobre velhice, durante um longo período não se levaram em consideração os marcadores
sociais, acreditando-se ser o envelhecimento um processo unívoco. Atualmente, essa perspectiva não se
justifica, sabendo-se da importância de ter em vista os marcadores sociais na sociologia da velhice
(Debert, 1997). Em razão do exposto, o presente trabalho discute aspectos referentes ao envelhecimento
de pessoas transfemininas. Utiliza esse termo para abarcar travestis, mulheres transexuais e demais
identidades transgêneras femininas. A proposta se justifica no parco debate acerca de transgeneridade
nas análises de gênero da gerontologia e se estrutura em três tópicos. No primeiro, discute gênero,
cisnorma e transgressão com base em Bento (2006, 2017), Bonassi (2017), Butler (2004). A seguir,
comenta acerca do recorte de gênero na sociologia da velhice a partir de Alves (2016), Barros (2006) e
Debert (1997). Por fim, fala especificamente da velhice transfeminina, recorrendo a Siqueira (2004),
Amaral (2007) e Almeida (2018). Conclui que é necessário expandir o recorte de estudo da
transgeneridade na sociologia da velhice, dadas as especificidades dessa população e a vulnerabilidade
em que se encontra no Brasil.
For a long time, studies on old age have not considered social markers, believing ageing to be a univocal process. Currently, this perspective is not justified, knowing the importance of taking into account the social markers in the sociology of old age (Debert, 1997). In view of the above, this paper discusses aspects related to the ageing of transfemale people. It uses this term to encompass transvestites, transsexual women and other female transgender identities. This proposal is justified by the scarce debate about transgenderness in the gender analyses of gerontology and is structured in three topics. In the first, it discusses gender, cisnorm and transgression based on Bento (2006, 2017), Bonassi (2017), Butler (2004). Next, it comments on the gender cut in the sociology of old age on Alves (2016), Barros (2006) and Debert (1997). Finally, it talks specifically of transfemale old age, in which siqueira (2004), Amaral (2007) and Antunes (2010) resort. It concludes that it is necessary to expand the study of transgenderness in the sociology of old age, given the specificities of this population and the vulnerability in which they find themselves in Brazil.
