| dc.description.abstract | O presente artigo propõe uma leitura sociocultural e literária do conto “Feliz aniversário”, parte da coletânea Laços de família (1960), da magistral escritora ucraniana, naturalizada brasileira, Clarice Lispector (1920-1977), a partir do estabelecimento de pontos de contato com as concepções da teórica social francesa Simone de Beauvoir (1908-1986), em A velhice, (1970), sobretudo pela exploração da figura da velha. Para tanto, interagimos com a protagonista da narrativa, Anita, na comemoração de seu 89° aniversário, junto de seus filhos, netos e agregados, pelas lentes metafóricas de uma “pantomima”, a qual nos permite melhor refletir, através de feições, ironias, subterfúgios, entre-lugares e paradoxos, sobre um retrato do cruel do tratamento da sociedade ao idoso, sendo este imputado, muitas vezes, pelos familiares. O enlear das obras filosófica e literária, trazendo à baila outros intérpretes do tema, assinala a efígie pungente da senilidade e seus reflexos sociedade hodierna. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This article proposes a sociocultural and literary reading of the short story “Happy Birthday,” found within the collection, Family Ties (1960), written by the renowned Ukrainian-Brazilian author, Clarice Lispector (1920-1977). Lispector’s story draws upon the establishment of points of contact which derive from the concepts of French social theoretician Simone de Beauvoir (1908-1986), in Old Age (1970), especially through the dissemination of the figure of the elderly. To this end, we interact with the protagonist of the narrative, Anita, in the celebration of her 89th birthday with her immediate family and in-laws, through the metaphorical lenses of a “pantomime”, allowing us to reflect, through features, ironies, subterfuges, middle-places and paradoxes. As all of these are quintessential elements in Lispector’s writings, they shed light on society’s treatment of the elderly, which is often attributed to family members. The enticement of philosophical and literary works, bringing other interpretations of the theme to the discussion, mark a poignant effigy of senility and its reflections in today’s society. | pt_PT |
