dc.description.abstract	O estágio realizado no âmbito do mestrado em Gestão Cultural, na Universidade da Madeira teve como propósito central, compreender as estratégias de comunicação da Biblioteca Municipal de Machico – Francisco Álvares de Nóbrega, localizada no concelho de Machico. Neste trabalho, são descritas as atividades realizadas durante as 640 horas de estágio, na referida biblioteca, com uma revisão bibliográfica que aborda a interação entre comunicação, cultura e o papel desempenhado pelas bibliotecas. O objetivo principal da pesquisa foi analisar a comunicação atual dos serviços culturais oferecidos pela biblioteca. A metodologia empregada envolveu a comparação de diferentes abordagens comunicacionais que ocorrem nas bibliotecas, procurando relacioná-las com a realidade observada na biblioteca de Machico. Foram analisadas e avaliadas as capacidades de comunicação, tanto interna quanto externa, da biblioteca, assim como a comunicação organizacional que permitiu identificar e criticar limitações. Os resultados indicaram que a comunicação e as atividades culturais da biblioteca de Machico têm áreas passíveis de melhoria, as quais podem ser abordadas por meio da elaboração de um plano de comunicação. Esse planeamento visa estabelecer ações que auxiliem na divulgação de informações, na promoção de eventos culturais e literários e na procura por novos públicos, sem deixar de fortalecer os vínculos com o público já existente. O presente relatório descreve as atividades realizadas durante o estágio na área da comunicação, fornecendo uma reflexão sobre a complexidade dessas ações e a importância da comunicação numa biblioteca.	por
dc.description.abstract	The internship conducted within the scope of the master's degree in Cultural Management, at the University of Madeira, had as its main purpose, to understand the communication strategies in the Municipal Library of Machico – Francisco Álvares de Nóbrega, located in the municipality of Machico. In this work, the activities conducted during the 640 hours of internship in the library are described, with a bibliographic review that addresses the interaction between communication, culture and the role played by libraries. The research's main objective was to analyze the current communication of the cultural services offered by the library. The methodology employed involved the comparison of different communicational approaches that occur in the libraries, seeking to relate them with the reality observed in the Machico library. The library's communication capabilities, both internal and external, as well as organizational communication were analysed and allowed us to identify and criticize limitations. The results indicated that the communication and cultural activities of the Machico library have areas for improvement, which can be addressed through the elaboration of a communication plan. This planning aims to establish actions that help in the dissemination of information, in the promotion of cultural and literary events and in the search for new audiences, while strengthening the bonds with the existing public. This report describes the activities conducted during the internship in communication, providing a reflection on the complexity of these actions and the importance of communication in a library.	eng
