sustentadas no ambiente escolar pode promover hábitos saudáveis e impactar
positivamente o desenvolvimento físico, cognitivo e social das crianças.
The promotion of physical activity during school breaks may be an essential strategy to combat sedentary behaviour, improve physical and mental health, and enhance students' academic performance. This study aims to propose effective strategies for promoting physical activity during school breaks, with the goal of improving students' health, well-being, and academic achievement. Based on the analysis of various interventions across different educational contexts, consistent evidence was identified showing that short and regular active breaks, conducted either inside or outside the classroom, contribute to increased levels of physical activity, improved attention, memory, physical fitness, and classroom behaviour. Technology-based interventions have proven effective in motivating and engaging students, while contextual adaptations and teacher involvement were crucial to the success of these initiatives. The most attractive approaches included playful, dynamic activities tailored to students' age, interests, and the available physical space. It is concluded that the integration of diversified and sustainable strategies within the school environment can promote healthy habits and positively impact children's physical, cognitive, and social development.
