Mais especificamente, aborda a necessidade de encontrar mar cadores universais alternativos aos oferecidos pelos sistemas de legitimação da arte, demasiado fechados na sua maioria, que nos permitam definir linhas de um inquĂ©rito artĂstico comprometido com a realidade atual e com os seus desafios locais e globais. | dc.description.abstract | The text establishes a connection between islands and the urgency of meaning. It pro poses that such connection can act as a paradigm that we can use to reflect about some of the central questions of contemporary art. More specifically, it addresses the need to find universal markers that can act as alternatives to those presently offered by tra ditional art legitimisation systems, and allow for an artistic inquiry to be truly engaged with the current state of affairs. The text concludes with the suggesting that islands can give way to a reconfigured contemporary artistic thought and art education.
