Abstract(s)
Através da criação de uma conceção de educação democrática e dialógica, Freire
consolidou um dos paradigmas mais ricos da pedagogia contemporânea. Rompeu ra dicalmente com a educação tradicional, transmissiva, bancária, de exclusão, de opres são, ao comprometer-se autenticamente com cada educando (respeitando a sua indivi dualidade, cultura e vivências), ensinou-os e libertou-os da opressão – conscientização,
acreditando que a educação possibilita uma sociedade mais justa e equitativa. Desta cou a responsabilidade ética da ação docente, a importância dos conhecimentos cien tíficos e da prática pedagógica – práxis humanista. O seu pensar crítico e libertador é
inspirador para todos os educadores que primam por uma pedagogia da autonomia.
Through the creation of a concept of democratic and dialogic education, Freire consolidated one of the richest paradigms of contemporary pedagogy. He broke radically with traditional, transmissive, banking, exclusion, oppressive, by com mitting authentically to each student (respecting their individuality, culture and experiences). He taught them and freed them from oppression – awareness, believ ing that education enables a more just and equitable society. He highlighted the ethical responsibility of the teaching act, the importance of scientific knowledge and pedagogical practice – humanist praxis. His critical and liberating thinking is inspiring to all educators who have a autonomy pedagogy.
